The LinkTree of products using the GS1 Digital Link: QR Code Multilink

Wait… What is LinkTree?

LinkTree is an online platform that lets users create a single page with multiple buttons linking to different resources. It became popular through social media, where many platforms allow only one link in the bio. With LinkTree, users can bypass this limitation by sharing a single link that leads to a page with multiple options.

GS1 Digital Link

In a world where governments, consumers, certification bodies, law firms, and non-profit organizations demand increasingly detailed information on sustainability, ethics, and quality from the agri-food industry, having clear and official communication channels is essential.

Companies typically use websites, e-commerce platforms, social media, and other formats like articles, interviews, and videos to engage with consumers. However, the sheer volume of information can often make purchasing decisions more confusing rather than clearer.

One of the most effective ways to engage consumers is by adding QR codes to product labels, providing direct access to additional information.

Moreover, more and more regulations support the use of QR codes on packaging for information sharing. A notable example is environmental labeling, where CONAI allows disposal instructions to be accessed via QR code.

As a result, producers often find themselves needing to add a QR code to their products, raising key questions and challenges: Where should it link? How should it be designed? Is one enough, or should there be more?

These are just some of the questions producers face, often choosing the quickest solution. As a result, QR codes frequently lead to outdated links or websites with incomplete or irrelevant product information.

GS1 Digital Link. With this new standard, consumers will have access to a much wider range of information than ever before.

To simplify this complexity and provide a scalable, standardized solution to meet growing consumer demands, GS1 introduced the GS1 Digital Link—a URL that connects to multiple online resources. Like the barcode, the GS1 Digital Link is a global standard. Once applied to a product, it can unlock a wide range of functions for both consumers and businesses.

Why Choose Trusty's QR Code Multilink?

Unfortunately, the challenges for producers don’t stop there. Each solution provider typically uses a different platform, leading to a mix of QR codes—one for environmental labeling, another for certifications, and yet another for e-commerce—creating further complexity.

QR Code Multilink

To prevent products from ending up with 10 different QR codes on their packaging, we launched Digital Link Manager, the Trusty Resolver. This service allows companies to create a GS1 Digital Link and dynamically associate multiple links—just like LinkTree—under a single product, all while maintaining compliance with GS1 standards.

Key Benefits of QR Code Multilink:

  • Real-time Updates – Add or remove links instantly, even after printing the label. If today you have a specific e-commerce URL and need to change it tomorrow, no problem—you can update the addresses without reprinting labels or ending up with outdated links.
  • Built on Standards – The platform uses the GS1 Digital Link standard, ensuring that the QR code will remain compatible with future services without the need to reprint labels.
  • Unlimited Links – Associate an unlimited number of links with a single product. Use RSLVR.IO for environmental labeling, certifications, e-commerce, websites, review portals, and more—offering endless possibilities in just one QR code.

What are you waiting for? Simply sign up HERE to start using the platform.

While Trusty already integrates all GS1 Digital Link functionalities, we developed QR Code Multilink to give producers a simple way to adopt this new standard—without the hassle of reprinting labels every time a link changes.
